Basketball

Basketball is a game that favors players with superior athleticism, explosive power and quickness. Our programs are designed to improve a player’s vertical jump, explosiveness, foot speed and strength so they can elevate their game on the court.

Reactive Training and Power Development:

  1. 1. Improves a player’s jumping ability and lateral quickness through daily reactive training exercises like box jumps, hurdle hops and more.
  2. 2. Reactive training will also improve the basketball player’s explosiveness and their ability to change directions at the drop of a dime.
  3. 3. Incorporates power exercises that will allow the player to generate greater force more efficiently, which greatly improves jumping ability and foot speed.

Proprioception:

  1. 1. Athletes perform exercises in all planes of motion.  They will perform unilateral exercises to learn how to better control their bodies.
  2. 2. Enhanced proprioception leads to improved athleticism and heightened physical awareness on the court.

Strength and Injury Prevention:

  1. 1. Strength is the foundation of athleticism and power.
  2. 2. Players will perform various exercises to improve full body strength so they can battle for boards down low.
  3. 3. Because basketball is a quad dominant sport, we place extra emphasis on the development of a strong posterior chain to prevent muscular imbalance and subsequent injury.

  • Advanced Basketball

    This program is a MUST HAVE for any basketball player that has reached the high school varsity level or higher. NxTUP provides the advanced athlete with a meticulous program aimed at developing a better athlete with increased speed, strength and power. Every athlete needs to be training at this level in order to be able to compete with the best. At this stage of competition, the physical attributes are usually what set the best apart from the rest. We have what you need.

  • Mid-Level Basketball

    This program is designed for the growing athlete that is on the cusp of, or just beginning, playing at the high school level. Our mid-level basketball introduces more complex lifts in order for the athlete to maximize the benefits of the training. We will hit the gym more frequently than the younger level, but still have ample recovery time and a methodical progression plan. This program should be an essential for all athletes looking to improve their proprioception, strength and athleticism when going against more developed competition.

  • Youth Basketball

    This program is designed for the beginner basketball player looking to begin a strength training program. Our youth level program promotes mastery of movement and progresses gradually as the athlete begins to demonstrate better strength and coordination. By starting a structured program at this level, the athlete will reap huge benefits compared to their peers. They will build a baseline of strength, recognize the benefits of a strength training program and greatly enhance their playing performance today and in the future.
